Philippine Dual citizenship India

Well to start of with this topic let us first discuss what dual citizenship is all about? When more than one country recognizes you as their citizen then it is said that you have a dual citizenship. It is one of the many concerns of this world today and almost all the countries are concerned about this particular issue which they all want to resolve. What are the consequences of dual citizenship? What is so much confusing about it? Why is everyone concerned about this particular issue? All the answers are there and all that you have to do is read on the article in full.

Different countries have different laws when it comes to dual citizenship. But the basic point which is explained in all of these is time period which you have to cover in order to apply citizenship for another foreign country. Many countries have set their own time schedule according to their own constitutional laws. If you abide by that then only you can apply for dual citizenship and not otherwise. But applying does not mean that the citizenship is granted, because every independent nation has its own choice as to its citizen will be.

The real problem that most of the countries like India, Philippines, Mexico, Italy and others like Ireland is facing at the moment is the immigration problem. People who have immigrated into their land for food and shelter and have stayed for long have now started applying for a dual citizenship. This is unfair as they belong to a completely different nation but has been forcefully staying in the native country. It is in one way hampering the population of the country and also the inadequacy of resources that it has.

The problem with the other developed nations like USA, Canada etc is somewhat different. In this case people who have migrated to their land have been forcefully granted citizenship in order to make them work. In this case these people who had then migrated from their own land are asking for dual citizenship as because they were forcefully told to be citizen of this native land. In this case they are not willing to leave their mother land status as well. This is creating a problem as because none of the countries can claim that particular individual to be their citizen.

The main drawback that you face in case of dual citizenship is in times of catching terrorists. It is actually evident that these people escape the laws of a particular land only because they are dual citizens. It creates a great deal of confusion regarding which state will hold their trial and other sensitive issues like this. The other problem that arises is the problem of tax on individuals. In case of dual citizenship the person has to pay tax in both the lands which he often denies.

So dual citizenship in one way brings about a great amount of confusion and this is due to the immigration that is taking place all around the world today.
